Finally Some Down Time!

For the past couple of weeks I have been doing my co-op (which is going great) and working another job at The Renaissance hotel. Well those two literally took up all my time from sunrise to sunset, so one had to give. The Renaissance Hotel job wasn't worth it and pretty much lacked what was worth in work so I left.

Within the past week I have been talking to Pat Miller. For those who are unfamiliar with Pat Miller, she is a food writer in Denver, CO who also goes by the name "The Gabby Gourmet." Very sweet, honest, upbeat lady, she was a guest speaker for the Food Writing class this past Monday. I appreciated her time and willingness to answer any of the questions all the students had asked. On here website www.gabbygourmet.com, there are columns that some freelance writers contribute to every week. Pat Miller encouraged my Food Writing class to send our work to her and if interested we could have our own column. So since I love to write and I really want to become better as a Food Writer, I emailed her my first article and restaurant review I did for Food Writing class. A couple of days later and now I will have my own column on her website, being able to express my love for food all around! I don't have a permanent name for my column yet but I definitely know the theme that I want for it!

Yesterday I went to the Tyrone Wells concert at The Soiled Dove in Denver, CO. This is the first time I have really ever heard of him and was invited (school providing the tickets and transportation) I said why not! The first opening act was kinda (well really) not that good, I really didn't listen much from them. My eyes actually got a little heavy when they were going on (sad I know). When the second opening act came to the stage I was surprised and wide awake. Tony Lucca, the best one man band I have seen in a while. Rocking with his guitar and singing into the microphone, he truly showed the passion for music that he has. Next up, Tyrone Wells unexpected, curtains went from closed to open and I didn't even realize it. I was so impressed with Tyrone that I bought 4 of his cd's and got all of them autographed! Never have I done that at any concert, I usually try to limit myself to 1 or 2 but ended up with 5 including Tony Lucca's Come Around Again cd! My picutres didn't come out that great because it was a dark room (and I need a new camera) but I think the video's may be ok quality.

Some more exciting news for me, I am a huge fan of Glee and the new episodes start April 13th! I have that day off which makes me extremely happy and that whole day (or hours before) may be strictly dedicated to Glee and the premiere of the new season!

Overall I miss having some time to do things fun, relax and then blog about it so hopefully I can maintain everything without "stretching myself to thin" as some people have said and continue to be happy.
